The work on St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Morro Bay, CA, began as a project to remove dry rot and fix earthquake damage. After taking a trip to Arizona to meet with John Rattenbury, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s apprentices, Charlie Main and the building committee were inspired to include some time-tested design concepts.
Deep red concrete, red brick pavers and lush plantings now flow through the campus. The Church has received a dynamic, copper eave structure with open skylight wells and new, field-built, dual pane windows to allow more natural light into the building.
