Charlie and Terri Main called the Big Island of Hawaii home for 8 years. During this time, Charlie was fortunate to be the contractor for a number of beautiful custom homes. Five of these homes were located in Kohala Ranch, a development on the North end of the island.
Some of the more interesting projects included a knife-edge pool, a driveway with a 40 ft bridge span over a creek, and Hawaiian style, redwood louver windows. Quality, superior craftsmanship, and attention to detail were a must for these showcase homes and the finished product was always something to be proud of.
The "Palmtree" project was originally brought to Charlie by a couple who owned a lot at the Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast. Features include nineteen-foot high ceilings, maple cabinetry, granite kitchen and bathrooms, hardwood floors, fully retractable sliding doors, therapy spa and pool. This beautiful resort home was photographed and appeared in Island Home Magazine and rented by a producer of the Kevin Costner film ‘Waterworld’, which was filmed just up the road at Kawaihae Harbor. He must have enjoyed living there!
